About Us

MississippiHorses.org is a network of horse lovers who want to find homes for any unwanted horse in Mississippi. We consist of volunteers from the Humane Society, veterinarians and their assistants, horse rescue organizations, trainers, riders and horse lovers of all kinds. From retirees to middle school students, we all share one thing - a love for these magnificent animals. We have dedicated our efforts to making sure that no Mississippi horse will ever again be slaughtered for meat or left in a field to starve. We recognize that the horse is among the noblest of all God's creatures, and we intend to see that His purpose for these wonderful companions is fulfilled.

Horse rescues in our network include:

Have a Heart Horse Rescue and Sanctuary
Mississippi Animal Rescue League
Twelve Oaks Farm
Project Hope of Mississippi
