One of our supporters bought a horse off the truck, and the trader mentioned he had a kid safe mustang. He didn’t want to see him shipped to auction. She grabbed him. Chance has been a hit at kid’s camp. He is branded and per the BLM, he is titled. He was born at the Cross Plains Maint. Facility June 13,2003. He was paired with a mare FM#00014564 HMA-Three Fingers -Oregon. Somehow, this gelding found his way to Mississippi, and we sure are glad he did.

As the trader mentioned, he is safe for children. As soon as he got off the trailer, he was saddled up and Leigh Ann Harvey rode him. He was a dream come true, as far as safety was concerned. Our camper jumped on his back, and she instantly wanted to make sure she would be able to ride him the rest of camp.

Pictures show he was a little thin. He previously had a little cold and was off his feed somewhat. In the last 3 weeks since picking him up, he has gained weight and has made himself at home. The campers named him Chance. They wanted everyone to know he deserved a second chance at having a good home.

Chance seems to have some gaited steps when he is prompted to go faster than a trot. This boy even stood calmly for the farrier. We really cannot say enough about this boy. He will make any stable-mate a good partner and any rider a great friend. Don’t pass up the chance to give a look to CHANCE. You won’t be disappointed.

Chance doesn’t miss a chance to give his riders a good time. He has participated in 2 summer camps and continues to amaze everyone who sees him.
Just like he has done it all his life, Chance allows the farrier to trim, file, and stretch him out. He may have done this all his life. While we know he was born in captivity and is part of the BLM registry, there is no information between then and when we picked him up. If they could only talk. (Like Mr. Ed–showing my age.)
This is Chance’s first time out with Mississippi Horses. We moved to Canton arena due to the fact that the recue area was totally muddy. The traffic going down the road was no problem. A fire engine with siren and horn blasting blew by and everyone braced, but no reaction. He has been desensitized to noise and activity.
