Welcome to MississippiHorses.org, an online community dedicated to providing horse owners opportunities to insure their horses will be treated with dignity and respect when they are no longer wanted. Our network includes people and facilities that will assist in finding a horse, regardless of condition, a place to live without the worry of the horse being sent to auction and ending up in a slaughterhouse. We have resources that will allow us to take younger horses and either place them with a loving family or retrain them for a different use. Finally, if the horse is at the end of its life and needlessly suffering, MississippiHorses.org can arrange for humane euthanasia through the Operation MS Horse medical fund.
Our mission is simple: to protect horses and help owners who can no longer care for their animals find a humane and loving alternative to cruel death by slaughter or abandonment.
Our most memorable saves of 2009!
This is a short video of our most memorable saves, our volunteers and those who have given our horses a home in 2009. Thank you from Mississippihorses.org to all of those who have supported our horse rescue organizations and helped them to work with law enforcement in providing a safe place for horses to go.

*URGENT* Hay needed!
Complaints of neglected and starving horses are increasing with no way to help them all. Rescue organizations are full, donations are down and the horse market is saturated with unwanted horses. When animal control officers respond to a complaint about starving horses there is nothing they can do unless there is a rescue organization that has room to take them. Many horses can survive if they can at least have hay to eat while waiting to be rescued or until their owner can provide for them. If you are able to donate hay or help transport hay in your area please call us at 601.201.8522. Click here for other ways you can help us save the horses.
Gearing up for foal season
